Task CLI is a product of Simples Media ("we", "us", "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data transparently.
2. Data We Collect

3. What We Don't Collect
- We do not track your browsing activity
- We do not use cookies on our website
- We do not collect analytics or telemetry from the CLI
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing
- We do not store passwords (we use email-based verification codes)
4. How We Use Your Data
We use your data exclusively to:
- Provide and operate the Service (sync tasks, manage teams)
- Authenticate you via email verification codes
- Process payments through Paddle
- Send transactional emails (verification codes, team invitations)
- Improve the Service based on aggregated, anonymous usage patterns
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Task CLI:
- AWS (Amazon Web Services) — Infrastructure, database (DynamoDB), email (SES). Data stored in sa-east-1 (São Paulo, Brazil)
- Paddle — Payment processing. Paddle acts as Merchant of Record and has its own privacy policy
We do not use any advertising, analytics, or tracking services.
6. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in AWS DynamoDB in the sa-east-1 (São Paulo) region. All communication between the CLI and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption. API keys are generated using cryptographically secure random identifiers. Verification codes expire after 10 minutes.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account or request data deletion, we remove your personal data within 30 days. Some data may be retained longer if required by law (e.g., billing records).
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data — all your tasks and projects are visible through the CLI
- Delete your data — contact us to request full account deletion
- Export your data — use
task list --allto view all your tasks - Correct your data — contact us to update your email or account information
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email. The "Effective" date at the top indicates the latest revision.
